Old Girtonian and 2016 graduate and School Captain, Joseph Baldwin, competed at the Australian Athletics Age Championships in Sydney this week in the Under 20 high jump.

He placed first with a jump of 2.22 m, which broke the meet record set in 2006 by 4 cm.

This leap also broke a long standing local record of over 30 years. And according to the Athletes Website Joseph is the number 1 ranked Under 20 high jumper in the world at the moment.

Joseph has now qualified for selection to compete at the World University Games to be held in Taipei in late August.
