Alex joins Girton Grammar as the Alumni Manager following an exciting and diverse career in PR, event management and communications spanning more than two decades.
Alex’s experience ranges from work in Melbourne and London-based PR consulting firms to a more recent stint in Victorian State Government as a Senior Media and Communications Adviser.
Whilst with the Victorian Government, Alex worked on many high-profile projects with a range of stakeholders and issues such as the Channel Deepening project in Port Phillip Bay, the removal of cattle from Victoria’s high-country and the formation and expansion of new Box-Ironbark National Parks.
A keen traveller, Alex spent 4 years based in London gaining international industry experience ranging from Marketing at Ernst & Young in the Minerals and Oils Division, through to event management for Daimler Chrysler with the London launch of the first ‘Smart Car’.
Her professional expertise includes strategy development, crisis communications management, event management, stakeholder relations, marketing communications and media liaison. Alex has worked in agency at Turnbull Porter Novelli, Holt PR and The Russell Organisation (London), event management companies such as Conference Australia and Access Conferences (London) and in industry for Telstra Mobilenet and the Institution of Engineers.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University and a post graduate certificate in Public Relations from RMIT University.
Alex moved to Castlemaine in 2013 with her husband and two children and established the Maldon Market before commencing work at Girton Grammar School as Alumni and Communications Manager.
