Thomas Rochford (Frew) was recently named the deserving recipient of the 2012 OGA Departing Girtonian Scholarship.

The $2,000 prize is solely funded and awarded by the OGA annually to a Departing Girtonian (Year Twelve) who espouses the values of the School; thus demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm across their curriculum, co-curricular and community service activities.

A highly involved student and leader to his peers, particularly in the demanding senior years, Thomas was a Senior Prefect and Debating Captain in 2012.  In Year Eleven, he was House Vice-Captain and Captain of Duke of Edinburgh and Basketball.  Thomas was awarded Frew House Colours, Debating and Soccer Colours that same year.

The funds provided by the OGA will assist with study costs at university where Thomas hopes to study veterinary science.
