17th September 2018

Sixteen of the eighteen graduates from the Class of 1978 came together in fun and friendship at a reunion dinner on Saturday 15th September. For some, this was followed by a walk, brunch and school tour on Sunday 16th September. A highlight of the school tour included finding a cupboard in what was the old Boarding House, still standing, with the names of some of the cohort written on the inside of the cupboard door.

The 1978 cohort included three male students, the school having tuned co-ed the year prior.  All three boys completed Year 12 at Melbourne schools but two were able to make it to the reunion.

The headmaster at the time, Mr Bob Bickerdike, was spoken of fondly by all Old Girtonians at the reunion.

The group had so much fun they have vowed to catch up again next year.
